This series of photos was taken on a nightly stroll through down town Hanover NH. As I was walking I noticed the night sky lit up purple and violet. Curious I started taking photos and learned where the source of this purple light was coming from. On top of the building in these pictures is a green house which uses violet light for night time usage. I think the fog in the air refracted the violet light to make the sky glow.

I fortunately caught this sacred moment of a full moon, and the halo around the moon is thus called a moon-dog.
This happens when the moonlight refracts off of ice crystals in the cirrus clouds of the atmosphere.
